The Girls’ Generation stamps that have started going on sale on August 9th are exploding with popularity.
Choi Jinwook, the postal team leader at Seoul Central Post Office,
specially created the first celebrity stamps using the members of Girls’
Generation, who have been active worldwide, as models. He revealed that
at 10 AM, an hour after they began sales, 600 of the prepared 1,200
sets of stamps were sold.
These stamps were in celebration of Girls’ Generations’ fifth
anniversary and were composed of nine stamps carrying photos from their
third Korean album, “The Boys”, along with each of their autographs.
Stamps showing their past releases, such as “Gee” and “Oh!”, were also
included for a total of fourteen stamps. Each set of stamps costs 20,000
won.
